Be original

When writing a book, you have to make sure that every single word that you will be including in your book comes from your heart, and not from others. This means that you are not allowed to copy a favorite paragraph from one of the books that you like to read very much, or even a single sentence or phrase. If a part of your book needs some referencing from other books, make sure you cite the reference properly to avoid any court action against you or your publisher.

Be interesting

A book needs to keep the readers interested, not just in the first chapter, but with all the succeeding chapters. Be sure to keep your readers hanging at every page, wanting to turn the page so fast like they cannot wait to get to the final chapter. Once you get to do this, you are really in for a good start.

Have a Good Plot

One way to keep your readers interested is by building a good plot in your book. Whether you would be writing a novel, an inspirational, an informative, or a biography of your favorite hero, a good plot is very essential. Determine firsthand how the contents of your book would proceed in every phase. Make sure that you could bring the reader to understand the flow of your book from one chapter to another. You must bear in mind that your book must touch the lives or values of your reader, letting them reflect upon your thoughts and intentions upon turning the last page.

Be understandable

Always use a language that your readers would easily comprehend. Make simple to compound sentences, and avoid using too many complex sentences. The simpler the sentences are, the easier it is for your readers to understand them. Be sure to let your thoughts flow seamlessly, providing a continuous and understandable harmony from one sentence to another.

Make an Outstanding Title

You are not going to make a good title, but an outstanding one. You must have noticed that it is always the first thing that a reader looks at every time he picks a book from the shelf. If the reader finds your title interesting, surely he will turn the book around to read the synopsis at the back. Now, once the reader does this, there is always a good chance that your book will be going through the cashier for purchase.
